Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use the MGL I&C 360 mobile application (the "App"). The App is a B2B field service solution provisioned for the exclusive use of Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL) and is intended for authorized field engineers and personnel involved in installation and commissioning operations.
Note to users: This App is provided to you by MGL for work-related purposes. Your use of the App may also be subject to MGL's internal policies and employment/contract terms.

Roles (Controller, Processor, Publisher)
The App is published on Google Play under Appstrail Technologies Pvt Ltd and is made available for use by MGL.
Information we process
To enable field service functionality (including via the Salesforce Mobile SDK), the App may process the following categories of information:
Authentication and identity
- User identifiers and enterprise credentials used to authenticate you and manage your field engineer profile and daily work assignments.
Location data (with your permission)
- Precise location (GPS) and/or approximate location (such as from network signals) to help you navigate to installation and commissioning sites and to verify that job activities were captured at or near the correct customer site.
- You can control location permissions through your device settings. Certain features may not function properly without location access.
Camera, photos, and media
- Photos of equipment, installations, and related media you capture in the App as supporting evidence for installation records, commissioning checklists, and service documentation.
Files and offline data
- If you use Offline Mode, the App temporarily stores service updates and job records locally on your device and synchronizes them once a network connection is available.
Technical logs and diagnostics
- We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect diagnostics (such as crash reports) to help keep the App reliable and to troubleshoot issues.
Where data is stored
Appstrail does not manage independent data servers for this App. Field engineer dashboards, customer details, installation records, and photos are stored within MGL's Salesforce environment. Salesforce provides the infrastructure for data stored and transmitted in connection with the App.
How information is used
Information is used strictly to support professional field service operations, including to:
- Display assigned installation and commissioning visits, tasks, and customer history.
- Capture and validate installation and commissioning records (including via photo evidence and location tagging, where enabled).
- Synchronize offline work once a connection is restored.
- Monitor app performance and reliability to prevent operational downtime.
How information is shared
Information may be shared in the following ways:
- Within MGL: with MGL personnel and teams who need access for operations, service management, audits, and support.
- Service providers used for the App: such as Salesforce (for the underlying data environment) and Firebase Crashlytics (for diagnostics). These providers process information to provide their services.
- Appstrail as service provider/processor: Appstrail processes information on behalf of MGL to operate, maintain, and support the App under its agreement with MGL.
- Legal and safety: if required by law or legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security of users, MGL, Appstrail, and the public.
Data retention and deletion
Account and data lifecycle management are handled by MGL's system administrators within MGL's environment. Retention depends on MGL's operational and legal requirements.
Requesting deletion: To delete your account or specific service records, contact MGL's IT or Operations department through your internal support channels.
Appstrail complies with deletion instructions provided by MGL in accordance with its service agreement.
Security
We implement industry-standard security measures designed to protect field data, including:
- Encryption in transit: communication between the App and Salesforce is encrypted using TLS via the Salesforce Mobile SDK.
- Secure API communication: synchronization occurs over protected HTTPS connections.
- Local data protection: offline data is stored locally on the device and protected by standard mobile operating system security controls until synchronization and purge.
- Reliable synchronization: the App uses a foreground service to help ensure records and photos are uploaded reliably, including when the App is minimized.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Device permissions
The App may request the following permissions to support operational functionality:
- Location access: to navigate to installation and commissioning sites and verify job activities at customer locations.
- Camera access: to capture photos of equipment, installations, and related evidence.
- Storage access: to temporarily store updates and captured images when operating in offline mode until synchronization.
- Notification access: to deliver job assignments, status updates, and operational alerts.
Your choices
- You can manage permissions (such as Location, Camera, and Notifications) through your device settings.
- You can request account deletion through MGL's IT/Operations department as described on the Account Deletion page.
Children's privacy
The App is not intended for use by children. It is intended for authorized MGL personnel for work-related purposes.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
